Oktoberfest Munich

Information

Tent Reservations

  • Annual Changes: Oktoberfest experiences changes every year, and this year is no exception, despite no new tents or innkeepers being introduced.
  • Online Portals: For the first time, hosts have set up online portals for exchanging or selling unused reservations at the original price.

It’s noted that 21 medium-sized and large gastronomic businesses have adopted the Oktoberfest-Booking.com portal for managing their reservations. This initiative helps ensure a fair and transparent reservation system for all participants. Enjoy Oktoberfest! 🍻🥨

FOOD AND DRINK – MINIMUMS

  • Compulsory Menu: In the past, when reserving a table in the festival halls, there was a requirement to select a menu. However, for Oktoberfest 2023, this compulsory menu is no longer in place. The decision on reservation allocation is no longer tied to menu selection.
  • Minimum Consumption:
    • Main Aisles: In the main aisles of the tents, the typical minimum consumption is two “masses” (liters) of beer and half a roast chicken.
    • Boxes and Galleries: For reserved areas like boxes and galleries, an additional consumption voucher of €15 is added.
  • Special Rules:
    • Käfer-Wiesn-Schänke: This tent may have specific rules or variations regarding minimum consumption.
    • Wine Tent: Similarly, the Wine Tent may have its own guidelines.

Remember that these rules ensure a lively atmosphere and help maintain the festive spirit at Oktoberfest. Prost (cheers)! 🍻🥨

ENTRY AND RESERVATIONS

  • Free Entry: You don’t need to reserve a place to enter the beer tents. Entry is free for everyone.
  • Non-Reservable Places: Approximately a quarter of the seats in the large tents are not reservable. These are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Weekends and Public Holidays: Until 3 pm on weekends and public holidays, half of the seats cannot be reserved. After 3 pm, around 35% of the seats remain non-reservable.
  • Exceptions:
    • The Käfer Wiesn-Schänke and Kuffler’s Weinzelt (wine tent) have different rules and are not subject to the same reservation restrictions.
    • Reservations are only possible for the interior of the tents, not for the beer gardens.

So, if you’re planning to attend Oktoberfest, arrive early to secure a spot, explore the lively atmosphere, and enjoy the festivities! 🍻🥨
