The U.S. Department of State’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is a free service that allows U.S. citizens traveling abroad to register their trip with the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

European Union
Entry/Exit System (EES)
The new Entry/Exit System (EES) began operations October 12, 2025. European countries are gradually introducing data collection at their external borders, with full implementation by April 10, 2026.
Passenger Locator Forms (PLF)

Jamaica
All travelers to Jamaica must complete the Customs C5 Form online before arrival. Complete the C5 Form →
Aruba
Travelers to Aruba must complete the ED Card online and pay a $20 USD fee (valid for one year). Note: successful submission does not guarantee entry — eligibility is assessed upon arrival. Complete Aruba ED Card →
Belize
All travelers arriving and departing Belize must complete the e-Embarkation Form (Belize Travel Declaration). Complete it within 72 hours of travel and submit before reaching immigration. Submit Belize e-Embarkation Form →
Dominican Republic
All passengers entering or leaving the Dominican Republic must complete the free Electronic Entry/Exit Form, which combines the Traveler’s Health Affidavit, Customs Declaration, and Embarkation/Disembarkation forms.
Mexico
Immigration Entry Form (FMM)
All foreign visitors to Mexico must complete the Immigration Entry Form (FMM) before arrival. Note: Cancun now grants Americans fast-track entry with a stamp — no FMM card required for Cancun.
Mexico Customs — Electronic Devices
⚠️ Important: Effective immediately — restrictions on electronic devices entering Mexico.
Each traveler may bring ONE portable computing device (laptop, notebook, or iPad) without incurring an import fee. Bringing multiple devices may result in customs duties starting at 19%, with some cases as high as 200%.

Cancun Departure Tax (VISITAX)
Since April 1, 2021, all international visitors over age 15 to the state of Quintana Roo (Cancun, Cozumel, Tulum) must pay the VISITAX tourism tax. The permit is valid for your entire stay in Quintana Roo. File VISITAX Form →
