Italy ~ Amalfi, Italy and the Coast

Places to Stay, Eat, Shop & Explore in Cilento & Amalfi

The recommendations are based on my visits to Italy and the hospitality I was shown by the proprietors. Many of them are my cousins, so remember to say Vincenzo from Cincinnati said “Ciao” when you visit!

ChefChierchia YouTube Channel contains converted 8 mm films of Amalfi, Felitto, Rome and other cities and villages in Italy.

Amalfi Coast by Boat

Those who know me know that I am dedicated to doing things right and I am a bit of a workaholic. As are my cousins and their children in Italy. Cafes, restaurants, ceramic shop, clothing store, and now, boat rental and a leather shop.

Now, I can recommend Marina Lo Smeraldino Boat Rental. If you have had the privilege of a trip to Amalfi and dinner at Lo Smeraldino Ristorante, you may have been greeted by Biagio. He now offers boat services along the Amalfi coast, private tours and self-drive. Cast off the starboard line!

Luna Convento

Luna Convento is on the edge of Amalfi, a five-minute stroll from the cathedral and center of town. The hotel dates to 1818 when Saint Francis of Assisi founded the monastery.

Almost two hundred years have passed after the conversion from a Franciscan monastery into an inn, and later into “Hotel Luna Convento” which has been continuously managed by five generations of the Barbarian family. Click here to see a listing of the distinguished guests from 1818 to today.
